Soma (carisoprodol) is a prescription muscle relaxant you can use if you experience pain due to strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. Soma can make you drowsy, although this side effect is not displayed by all patients. Always make sure you know exactly how Soma is likely to affect you before starting the treatment. You may get a few mild side effects at the beginning of the treatment, but they will go away on their own in most cases as your body adjusts to the dose prescribed. You may experience such side effects as headache, fast heart rate, clumsiness, vomiting, dizziness, upset stomach, drowsiness, and skin rash, although more serious ones (difficulty breathing, weakness, burning in the eyes, fever etc) are also possible sometimes. Your doctor will need to know if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications to make sure your treatment is safe and efficient. Please report any tranquilizers, sedatives, sleeping pills, vitamins, cough and cold drugs, muscle relaxants, medications for allergies, or other products that may cause interactions.
